Tucked directly across the street from Lincoln Middle School, a transformation is underway. What will soon emerge is The Spindle. An indoor recreational facility designed to serve as a gathering place for students, families, and the broader community.
Under the leadership of Superintendent Dr. Michelle Smith and with the full support of the Berwyn North School District 98 Board of Education, this project represents a bold commitment to student wellness and community connection. It’s not about checking a box or filling space, it’s about creating something our kids actually need: a place where they can play, connect, and just be kids.
The Spindle is designed for children Pre-K and up. The facility will feature built-in electrical infrastructure throughout, supporting everything from gaming consoles to interactive tech setups. It’s a modern approach to recreation.
“These are the kinds of spaces our kids deserve.”
— Dr. Michelle Smith, Superintendent, Berwyn North SD 98
