Best of Berwyn Winners

Three Berwyn North School District 98 students have earned top honors in the 2026 Best of Berwyn Junior Citizen Recognition Program, a citywide initiative celebrating exceptional eighth-grade students who demonstrate academic excellence, leadership, community involvement, and outstanding character.

Leading the group was Hailey Gomez, who was named the 2026 Best of Berwyn Recipient, the highest honor awarded through the program. Gomez was recognized for embodying the qualities that define the award, including academic achievement, service to the community, participation in extracurricular activities, and strong moral values.

Also earning recognition were Nevaeh Amya Vigil, named Second Finalist, and Elizabeth Ramirez, named Third Finalist. Both students were praised for their dedication to their schools, commitment to helping others, and potential for future success.

The Best of Berwyn Junior Citizen Recognition Program brings together schools, community organizations, and civic leaders to identify students who represent the very best of Berwyn’s youth. Candidates are evaluated on community service, extracurricular participation, academic performance, leadership skills, ethical values, and their positive impact on those around them.

District officials congratulated all participating students, noting that the competition highlights the talent, determination, and character found throughout Berwyn North School District 98.

As these students prepare to begin their high school journeys, their accomplishments serve as an example of the excellence and community spirit that continue to define BN98 schools and the City of Berwyn.
