Pre K

• 3-5 year olds residing within Berwyn North 98 District bounds. 

We welcome and encourage all children to register for preschool; however, enrollment is not guaranteed. Priority is given to children who may benefit the most from early education, including those from low-income families or who have specific developmental needs. Those who are not offered a placement, will be put on a waiting list.  

Children who are 5 years old by September 1st are not eligible for preschool and should register at their home school for kindergarten.

2. Submit required documentation by email to: prekinfo@bn98.org or drop off in person at the District Office. 
3. Complete PreK developmental screening using Ages & Stages questionnaire. 
4. Complete parent/guardian interview with PreK Family Support Specialist, Betsabe Miranda, in person, by phone, or zoom.

2. Please submit 5 updated proofs of address to home school along with updated proof of income and Household Eligibility Form.
3. You will  be contacted by our PreK Family Support Specialist to discuss placement options and will receive a notice of placement decision following a "batch system"( read more about this under "placement process").

After all documentation and ASQ is received, you will be contacted to complete an eligibility interview and discuss placement preferences. This will finalize your registration. As a reminder, enrollment is not guaranteed and priority is given to children who may benefit the most from early education.

Notifications of placement: We will be working under a “Batch” system meaning…

• Completing the registration process between the 1st and the 15th of the month will allow for you to receive your placement by the 30th of the month.
• Completing the registration process between the 16th and the end of the month will allow for you to receive your placement by the 15th of the next month. 
• However, if you are applying for the dual language program for the first time, it is likely that you will not receive notice of placement until August during our back-to-school event. More information about dual language can be found here Dual language

Please note that while you may complete an online enrollment form during June, all June enrollment applications will receive communication to finalize and obtain a placement by July 15th.

• Child's Birth Certificate/ Proof of Guardianship. 
• Child's Physical Exam.
• 5 proofs of residency, all dated within the last 30 days of submission date. 

• Application for Free/Reduced Meals. Proof of Income is also required from everyone in the household

• Completion of developmental screening - The Ages & Stages Questionnaire (ASQ) link will be shared once all documentation is received.

• Half-day programs (mornings and afternoon)
• Dual Language Full-day program
• Monolingual English Full-day programs
